Pemex Abkatun – A2

| Gulf of Mexico| Pemex | Pemex Abkatun – A2

Project background

The Abkatun A2 platform will provide replacement and expansion capabilities to the existing Ku-Maloob-Zaap, Cantrell and Ayatsil facilities. Located in 124-ft water depth in the Bay of Campeche, the platform will handle up to 220,000 BOPD and 150MMcf/D of natural gas from Pemex’s shallow-water oil fields. The platform was recently turned over to Pemex for startup and commercial operations.

Scope of supply

PJ Piping was asked to assist the project with a technical challenge related to a NACE requirement. We accepted the challenge and consulted with NACE board members to determine technical differences between NACE specifications. We then offered our client a solution which was acceptable by all parties.
